B.I.P. photocell system
B.I.P. photocells are almost a standard part of all automatic barrier systems installed in pedestrianised areas, giving touch-less safety across the boom threshold whenever the barrier is open or closing. They can of course be used as actuators although this is not as popular owing to the building work usually entailed. B.I.P. works on modulated infra-red light which is unaffected by direct sunlight and comprises pre-wired transmitter and receiver units for connection to an adjustable amplifier/relay incorporated in the control system. Maximum range is 15m.
By having a 20:7 degree angle of receptance, installation time is reduced as alignment is not critical. This may also be important if the photocell mounting position is prone to knocks and bumps by traffic in the doorway. Power supply is 24V (from our control unit) making B.I.P. a safe system for use in most areas and fire zones. When installed by Motivation, B.I.P. photocells are fully tested and mounted in special terminal boxes creating an unobtrusive and reliable safety feature.
